In Their Own Words
Karen Leung
CFO, Trading Company · Hong Kong
"The treasury review gave us a clear picture of where we were leaving money on the table with our banking arrangements. The recommendations were specific enough to act on immediately — not a general wish list. We renegotiated two facility agreements within three months of receiving the report."

Philip Wong
CEO, Professional Services Firm · HK
"We hired Typhoon Ridge for a sales effectiveness study after two years of flat revenue. What stood out was their willingness to be direct — they identified three structural issues that our own team had danced around for a long time. The territory redesign they recommended has made a visible difference."

Angela Mak
Head of ESG, Listed Company · HK
"We were struggling to align our sustainability reporting with the updated HKEX requirements while also satisfying investor expectations. Sophia helped us build a framework that covers both without becoming unmanageable for a small team to maintain. The templates she developed are genuinely useful — not just theoretical."

James Ho
Finance Director, Manufacturing · HK
"Margaret's team was easy to work with throughout. They were organised, communicated clearly about what they needed from us, and kept to the agreed timeline. The final report was detailed but readable. My board could engage with it directly, which is not always the case with consulting deliverables."

Christine Yau
COO, Regional Distributor · HK
"We had done a sales effectiveness review with a larger firm two years prior and found it difficult to apply because the recommendations were too general. Typhoon Ridge's study was considerably more specific about what we needed to change and why. David understood our commercial model quickly and worked with it rather than around it."

Robert Tse
Group Treasurer, Financial Services · HK
"As someone who works in treasury myself, I was a little sceptical about what an external review could add. It turned out to be more useful than I expected — primarily because they brought benchmarking data I did not have access to internally, and because having an independent view helped me make a case to management for changes I had already been considering."

Success Stories
Regional Trading Company — Treasury Review
Hong Kong · Completed February 2025
Challenge
The company was operating with six separate banking relationships accumulated over many years, each with different terms and fee structures. Cash was not being pooled effectively across entities, and the finance team had limited visibility into group-wide liquidity.
Approach
We conducted a detailed review of all banking agreements, fee schedules, and intercompany fund flows. We modelled the impact of consolidating banking relationships and assessed the case for a notional pooling structure across the main operating entities.
Outcomes
The company consolidated from six banks to three, negotiated improved fee terms, and implemented a pooling structure that improved cash visibility significantly. Bank charges reduced by an estimated 28% in the first six months following implementation.
Professional Services Firm — Sales Effectiveness Study
Hong Kong · Completed January 2025
Challenge
Revenue growth had stalled despite an increase in headcount. Conversion rates from pitch to engagement had declined over two years, and senior leadership had competing views on whether the issue was structural, process-related, or compensation-driven.
Approach
We interviewed sales directors, account managers, and a sample of recently lost prospects to build a clear picture of where the conversion process was breaking down. We also reviewed CRM data for 18 months of pipeline activity and analysed incentive scheme structure against target attainment patterns.
Outcomes
The review identified that proposal quality and follow-up consistency were the primary drivers of lost conversion — not pricing or competition. A revised proposal process and clearer accountability framework were implemented over the following quarter, with measurable improvement in pipeline-to-close rates.
Listed Company — Sustainability Reporting Framework
Hong Kong · Completed December 2024
Challenge
The company was listed on HKEX and needed to comply with updated ESG reporting requirements, while also addressing increasing investor questions about climate-related disclosures. Their existing approach was inconsistent and lacked a coherent data collection structure.
Approach
We began with a materiality assessment and a gap analysis against HKEX ESG requirements and TCFD recommendations. We then worked with the internal team to define a manageable set of metrics, assign data ownership across departments, and design collection templates that could be used quarterly without specialist input.
Outcomes
The company published their first fully compliant annual sustainability report within six months of completing the engagement. Investor feedback on disclosure quality improved, and the internal team was able to manage the subsequent reporting cycle independently, without external support.
