What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser, remember settings, and gather information about how pages are used. Cookies themselves do not contain personally identifying information, though when combined with other data they may indirectly relate to an individual.
Why We Use Cookies
- To ensure the website functions correctly for all visitors
- To understand how people navigate and use the site so we can improve it
- To remember preferences you have set during your visit
- To support any applicable analytics activities
Cookie Types We Use
Essential Cookies Always On
Necessary for the website to work. These handle session state, security, and basic page functionality. They cannot be disabled.
Examples: session identifiers, CSRF protection tokens
Analytics Cookies (Optional)
Help us understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where they navigate from. Data is aggregated and does not identify individuals.
Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid) — typical retention: 26 months
Marketing Cookies (Optional)
Used to track visits across websites for the purpose of delivering relevant advertising. We currently use these sparingly and only where consent has been given.
Examples: Meta Pixel, Google Ads — typical retention: 90 days
Preference Cookies (Optional)
Store settings you have chosen, such as language, region, or display preferences, so you do not need to re-select them on each visit.
Examples: language preference, cookie consent record — session or persistent
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use. These include:
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics
- Google Ads — where applicable, advertising performance tracking
- Meta (Facebook) — where applicable, social advertising pixels
We are not able to directly control third-party cookies. Please refer to the respective privacy policies of these services for details on how they handle data.
Cookie Duration
- Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies — remain until they expire or you delete them. Expiry periods vary from a few days to 26 months depending on the cookie type
